STUSB4531 Standalone SINK USB PD Controller

STMicroelectronics STUSB4531 Standalone SINK USB PD Controller addresses USB Type-C^® sink devices. Based on the default PDO configuration stored in an internal non-volatile memory, the STMicroelectronics STUSB4531 uses proprietary algorithms to negotiate a power delivery contract with a source without requiring software support (autorun mode), ideal for automatic high-power profile charging, especially from a dead battery power state. The simple interface (hybrid mode) supports full-feature applications with a light external software layer. This patented hybrid mode simplifies the use of optional USB PD features and allows an external application processor to interact with the stack and leverage the USB PD protocol layers. This feature gives engineers extra flexibility to use functions such as battery messaging, data role swapping, Alternate modes, and vendor-defined messages (VDM) while also easing software development and accelerating time to market.
