Microchip Technology USB4715 USB 2.0 Hub Controllers

Microchip Technology USB4715 USB 2.0 Hub Controllers are single-chip controllers with FlexConnect. These hub controllers are low-power, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) configurable, and Multi-Transaction Translator (MTT) USB 2.0 controllers. The USB4715 controllers offer one upstream port for USB host/On-The-Go (OTG) connection and four downstream ports with FlexConnect capability. These hub controllers support battery charging for Battery Charging Specification Revision 1.2 (BC1.2), China, and Apple® profiles.

The USB4715 controllers feature USB I/O bridging and an on-chip microcontroller. These hub controllers feature unique FlexConnect USB functionality, whereby one of the downstream ports can be reconfigured to become an upstream port. This unique capability allows the smartphone ecosystem of software and applications to be connected to the automotive infotainment system. The USB4715 controllers have been specifically optimized for embedded systems where high performance is a critical design requirement. These hub controllers find applications in media hubs, infotainment head units, break-out boxes, LCD monitors, and many more.
