The above curve shows a typical EMC measurement and how EMC filters can help to achieve the required standard. If the motor at the frequency converter output is running, the interference voltage (gray lines) is far above the allowed threshold (green lines). In this example, adding an EPCOS 2-line filter at the input of the frequency converter improves the characteristics up to 70dB (red and blue line), and the limit according to EN 61800-3 is achieved.
