STMicroelectronics SPC5 Motor Control Tool Kit

STMicroelectronics SPC5 Motor Control Tool Kit is designed to evaluate SPC560P and L9907 FET driver. This SPC5 tool kit allows the SPC56 MCU performance in applications driving single or dual Field Oriented Control (FOC) of 3-phase permanent magnet motors. The SPC5 tool kit features single-motor FOC, L9907 FET driver support, motor control algorithms, speed/position sensors support, speed, and torque control. This SPC5 tool kit consists of HW plus SW kit to develop automotive applications for Brushless DC (BLDC) motor control. The HW includes SPC560P-DISP MCU discovery board and an EVAL-L9907 board with L9907 and inverter. The SW part is made of the SPC5-MCTK-LIB PMSM/BLDC FOC FW library, an SPC5 MC live monitor, and a SPC5Studio configurator plug-in.

The STMicroelectronics SPC5 Motor Control Tool Kit implements the motor control algorithms for maximum torque per ampere, flux weakening, and feed forward. This SPC5 tool kit consists of a motor control library that is fully integrated into the SPC5Studio software development environment with graphic configuration. The SPC5 Live Monitor (LM) and SPC5Studio motor control configurator plug-in reduce the design effort and time in the SPC5 PMSM FOC firmware library configuration.

The SPC560P-Discovery is designed to discover the SPC560P line power architecture MCUs with full access to GPI/Os, CPUs, and peripherals. This SPC560 line is designed to address cost sensitive chassis, Electrical Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS), airbag, Electric Power Steering (EPS), and electrical motor control applications. The L9907 FET driver is a smart power device capable of driving all PowerMOS transistors for 3-phase BLDC motor applications. This L9907 FET driver can control the six pre-driver channels independently, making it possible to implement all kinds of electric motor control strategy.
