Mouser-Backed DS PENSKE Formula E Racing Team Prep for Doubleheader in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

 

February 11, 2025 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, is excited to cheer on the DS PENSKE Formula E racing team as it competes in rounds 3 and 4 of Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on February 14 and 15, 2025. This will be the first time that Formula E has raced at Jeddah, and with its breathtaking Red Sea backdrop, the E-Prix promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans and competitors alike. 

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is the same venue used by the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Formula One but will be modified to a 3.001 km (1.865 mi), 19-turn format to accommodate Formula E. To add to the excitement, the two races will be run at night with the illumination of LEDs lining the track and on the cars.

The Jeddah race is also going to include the introduction of PIT BOOST to Formula E. PIT BOOST is an innovative mid-race feature that provides a 10% energy increase (3.85kWh) to race cars through a 34-second, 600kW rapid recharge in the pit lane. Each driver must choose the optimal moment to use PIT BOOST, adding an extra layer of drama to every race. Designed to enhance strategy, unpredictability and fan engagement, PIT BOOST will showcase cutting-edge EV ultra-fast recharging technology while adding a thrilling new dimension to Formula E races.

The DS PENSKE Formula E racing team is led by two-time Formula E Champion Jean-Éric Vergne and Maximilian Günther as they pilot the new GEN3 Evo car. The GEN3 Evo is faster, stronger, and more agile than its predecessors and features an aggressive new body kit designed to be stronger, more robust and more aerodynamic. It also allows for all-wheel drive, a first for a Formula E car.
