Vishay Semiconductors Opto VEML6031X00 Automotive Qualified Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) is a high-accuracy sensor with an I2C Interface. This sensor is an ambient light digital 16-bit resolution sensor in a small opaque 2.67mm x 2.45mm package. The VEML6031X00 sensor incorporates a high-sensitive photodiode, a low noise amplifier, and a 16-bit A/D converter.The Vishay Semiconductors Opto VEML6031X00 Automotive Qualified Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) supports an easy-to-use I2C bus communication interface and features an interrupt function. The sensor's output has a digital value that can be easily converted to a lux level.
The VEML6031X00 is ideal for automotive applications, including display backlight controls, infotainment systems, rearview mirror dimming, interior lighting control systems, and head-up displays.
