These fast-charging applications require modular power converters, which can be paralleled to cater to different power levels, thereby enabling fast charging. They are designed to be used in series with clamping devices such as varistors or TVS diodes for protecting AC power input lines. Applications include outdoor LED lighting, CATV networks, power supplies, and inverters. Littelfuse P-0FNL components feature a 3kA 8/20 surge rating. Littelfuse P-0FNL 3kA SIDACtor thyristors exhibit a low offshoot voltage and low on-state voltage with a fast response time. The P-0FNL series is automotive grade AEC-Q101 qualified, RoHS compliant, lead-free, and halogen-free.

The unique structure and characteristics of the thyristor are used to create an overvoltage protection device with precise and repeatable turn-on characteristics with low voltage overshoot and high surge current capabilities. SIDACtor components are solid state crowbar devices with a patented ion implant technology that ensures effective protection within nanoseconds. Littelfuse SIDACtor Protection Thyristors include a wide range of semiconductor protection thyristor over-voltage transient suppression devices designed to serve requirements of telecom and data networking equipment applications.

High Exposure Surge SIDACtor Protection Thyristors

Littelfuse High Exposure Surge SIDACtor Protection Thyristors are very robust solid-state protection devices intended for use in high-exposure environments. The family includes products specifically designed for primary protection, such as cell and TO-220 devices. The High Surge Current components also feature devices capable of meeting 5kA 8/20µs for use in extreme conditions. For enhanced secondary protection requirements, a D-rated device capable of 1000A 2/10µs is available in a DO-214 package.
