onsemi FPF2188L Surge & Over-Voltage Protection Switch

onsemi FPF2188L Surge and Over-Voltage Protection Switch is designed for the power path in USB Type-C®/Power Delivery (PD) applications. The FPF2188L has a single-input single-output (SISO) power path. The power path (VBUS to VOUT) is an active-low, 28V/6A-rated power MOSFET switch that supports an internal clamp for surge protection, selectable OVP by GPIO.

BUS_DET is paired with an always-on LDO to power downstream devices when VBUS exceeds 3.1V, regardless of the OVLO and ENB states. This feature provides a system power supply without a battery. The FPF2188L features the OTG_DET pin, which supplies power to the device when an OTG device is inserted. It will support turning on the power MOSFET even when the VBUS voltage is low.

The onsemi FPF2188L features an active discharge path at VBUS, meeting USB Type-C PD compliance. The FPF2188L is available in a 20-bump, wafer-level chip-scale package (WL-CSP) with 0.4mm pitch.
