onsemi Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs)

onsemi Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) are highly integrated solid-state power switches integrating gate-drive circuitry based on IGBTs or MOSFETs in a single module. IPMs also include protection for power systems from issues such as short circuits, under voltages, and extreme temperatures. IPMs using 600V IGBTs are used in consumer and industrial applications for driving fans, pumps, and compressors. IPMs using 40V and 80V MOSFETs are increasingly used in automotive applications to drive electric fans and pumps. 

onsemi IPMs allow designers to reduce system costs thanks to high integration, small packages, and excellent cooling performance. These devices reduce assembly cost with a simple assembly concept and reduce the time to market with a power stage already optimized to meet the best trade-off between switching characteristics and EMI performance. These IPMs also improve reliability with short circuit-rated IGBTs driven by rugged gate driver ICs in a rugged transfer mold package.
